1986 - 2022

Founded in 1986 by Ron Pretty 5 Islands Press has published over 250 books. In 2007 it was passed on to new editors who ran the press until 2020. In 2020 the press changed hands again, this time becoming an imprint of Apothecary Archive. Apothecary Archive aims to archive the history of the press and work with authors to make as many of the published books accessible to the public through the supply of digital versions, physical reprints of out-of-print books and the occasional new title.
